Adam Kugelman will celebrate his bar mitzvah on January 28. Adam's proud parents are Karen and Harvey Kugelman. Adam lives in Cleveland Heights with his parents and his sister, Sonia. His brother, Eli, and his older sister and brother-in-law, Natanya and Kyle, live and work in Chicago. Adam is also the grandson of Sylvia and Walter Kugelman, Gerald Goldstein and the late Sonia Goldstein. A seventh-grade student at Gross Schechter Day School, where he is a member of the soccer team, Adam's favorite subject is math. He is an enthusiastic Star Wars fan, and loves playing all kinds of computer games. Adam is also teaching himself computer programming in his spare time.


Adam has been taking piano lessons since the second grade. His favorite food is his mom's kielbasanoodle casserole. Adam thanks his bar mitzvah tutor, Lance Colie, and all his teachers at Gross Schechter for helping prepare him for his special day.





Elana Berusch

Elana Berusch will celebrate her Bat Mitzvah on February 18. Elana, the daughter of Lisa and Russell, lives in Cleveland Heights, along with her siblings, Maggie and Joe. Her grandparents are Carol and Howard Berusch of Beachwood, Sam and Leah Austin and Norman and Diane Lefstein, all of Indianapolis. Elana is in 7th grade at Roxboro Middle School, and attends Cleveland Hebrew Schools. She was on Roxboro's volleyball team this past year. Elana has been taking piano since second grade, and she plays clarinet in the Roxboro band. In her limited free time Elana reads and spends time with friends. Elana thanks her tutor, Na'ama Sharaby, and her parents for helping her prepare for her bat mitzvah.





Sam Shiffman

Sam Shiff man, son of Karen and David Shiff man will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on March 25. Sam is an avid snowboarder and Taekwondo student who will test for his Black Belt soon. He is in 7th grade at Th e Agnon School, where he plays percussion in the band. Sam lives in Beachwood, with his parents, sisters Devorah and Lucie, and their dog Jed. He travels extensively with his family and will visit his 39th state this summer.





Miriam Rabinowitz

Miriam is an avid Latin scholar and a member of the Cello Section of the Orchestra at Shaker Middle School. She is musically inclined and enjoys singing and also studies Piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She is an experienced world traveler, having visited England, Scotland, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Israel, Mexico, and Canada. She has also traveled extensively in the United States. However, her favorite type of travel is via books where she frequently visits exotic locales such as Middle Earth, Redwall Abbey, Hogwarts, and Narnia. She enjoys swimming, soccer, rock climbing, rappelling, and hiking. Her favorite animal is Tai Shan, the baby panda at the National Zoo (he is so cute and they share a birthday).

My name is Tali Lugasy. I have almost fi nished 7th grade at Roxboro Middle School in Cleveland Heights. My favorite subject is Math. I enjoy sports and I play on my school's volleyball team. I also love to play lacrosse and I am on the Heights Middle School Lacrosse Team. I like music and have played the piano since I was six years old. I have two older sisters, Maya and Leora. I would like to thank my parents for their love and support.





Aliza Mack

Aliza Rivka Mack will become a Bat Mitzvah on Labor Day. Th e Birkner Mack family will celebrate that weekend. Aliza will give a d'var Torah the previous Shabbat (September 2) and the congregation is invited to celebrate with Aliza and her family at Kiddush following services that morning.


Aliza will be entering 6th grade at Evelina de Rothschild school in Jerusalem this fall. With the move to Israel, Aliza will fulfi ll her dream of fulfi lling the mitzvah of living in Eretz Yisrael. Aliza is an avid reader (both English and Hebrew) and loves solving Math puzzles ­ especially Sudoku.
